Section 1 of The Insurance Act

Here we will see Section 1 of The Insurance Act.

Short title, extent and commencement.

(1) This Act may be called the Insurance Act, 1938.

(2) It extends to the whole of India *** (The words “except the State of Jammu and Kashmir” omitted by Act 62 of 1956, s. 2 and the Schedule (w.e.f. 1-11-1956). ).

(3) It shall come into force on such dateas the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf.
