Samsung Electronics has unveiled a groundbreaking feature on its 2023 TV and monitor lineup, aimed at enhancing the viewing experience for individuals with color vision deficiency (CVD). The newly introduced SeeColors mode, certified by TÜV Rheinland for “Color Vision Accessibility,” offers a range of color settings tailored to different degrees and types of CVD, ensuring a more enjoyable visual experience.

SeeColors mode revolutionizes accessibility by providing users with nine picture presets to choose from. By adjusting the levels of red, green, and blue, this feature enables viewers with CVD to easily distinguish colors on the screen according to their specific condition.

Initially launched as an application in 2017, SeeColors has now been integrated into the accessibility menus of Samsung TVs and monitors, making it readily accessible to a broader user base. For those who have already purchased a 2023 model, a software update will be made available to incorporate SeeColors into the accessibility menu.

Samsung’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity has been further solidified by earning the prestigious “Color Vision Accessibility” certification from TÜV Rheinland. This recognition underscores the effectiveness of SeeColors mode in enabling individuals with CVD to fully enjoy content on Samsung screens. It aligns with Samsung’s overarching vision of “Screens Everywhere, Screens for All,” reaffirming the company’s dedication to developing inclusive technologies.

Seokwoo Jason Yong, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, expressed enthusiasm about the new accessibility features, including SeeColors and Relumino mode, featured in the 2023 TV and monitor lineup. He emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and its mission to bring inclusive technologies closer to consumers.

SeeColors mode is available across Samsung’s 2023 TV and monitor lineup, encompassing the Neo QLED, QLED, OLED, Smart Monitor, and the G95SC gaming monitor. This significant development empowers individuals with CVD to enjoy a more vibrant and immersive viewing experience, revolutionizing the way they perceive and engage with content.

It is important to note that SeeColors mode is not intended for medical diagnosis or treatment purposes. Users should consult healthcare professionals for any medical concerns. TÜV Rheinland, a globally renowned testing organization headquartered in Cologne, Germany, granted the “Color Vision Accessibility” certification to Samsung’s SeeColors mode on June 7, 2023.

Samsung’s introduction of SeeColors mode marks a significant step forward in the pursuit of inclusivity and accessibility in the realm of technology. By addressing the needs of individuals with color vision deficiency, Samsung continues to push boundaries, ensuring that screens truly become available and enjoyable for all.
